Hostex is Africa’s largest and most prestigious International hospitality and catering exhibition. It is unique in that it is the only exhibition which brings the most prominent hospitality and catering industry members together under one roof.  Hostex has traditionally been used as the event where BCE launches its latest buyers guide. This year was no exception and thanks to the hard work of BCE’s Hostex Project team, the catalogue launch was a huge success and extremely well received by our dealers. The cocktail party on Monday evening which celebrated the 2009 buyers guide launch was described as “the best ever” and had a turnout of over a 120 people.  
 
BCE had one central stand (in which we displayed a number of our premium brands – Infinity, Bravilor, Hamilton Beach and Unox) and two satellite stands (Carlisle and Anvil). The turnout at our stands was phenomenal – if ever we needed proof of a booming South African tourism and hospitality industry, this was it.  Besides the showing of various commercial catering equipment and services, there were also a number of exciting exhibitions and demonstrations at the show - the SA Chefs Association for example, were heavily involved in demonstrating their culinary skills and cooking talents.  Not to be outdone, BCE’s resident Chef Berno du Plessis completed a number of demonstrations during the course of the four days and received many compliments for his culinary talents and showmanship skills. Well done Berno – you definitely stole the show!  
 
Special thanks must go to the BCE project team who pulled everything together – Maria Prinsloo, Dalene Strydom, Sean Furstenberg, Seelan Naidoo, Silas Paul, Merrick Hoffman, and Bernd Gutgesell.  Your efforts and outstanding team work does not go unnoticed. A word of thanks must also be extended to Raymond Rive who spent four days helping on the stands by providing the professional touch that has become synonymous with BCE.
